about

This was written in August 2011 for a musical challenge on Pineapster which was a forum on which Leicester musicians used to hang out. We all swapped lyrics with each other and put our own music to them. This was what I came up with.

lyrics

These things get out dirty secrets,
Yes they get out dirty tales,
Dragged right out into the open, Lai ya da dai, ya da dai, ya da dai,

Pulled under the wheels of oncoming trucks and passing cars,
As people stare,
Seperate by glass, there but for the grace of,
Roll on past - roll on past.

Turn up the radio,
cover it up, cover it up,
But we are complicit and already too deep in,
Stretch'ed out in front,
Fall away behind people like their journeys to somewhere else.

Once we learned a few things,
Probably forgotten now,
But these things get dragged in on out,
Yes these things get dragged in on out,

Time is distant in our dirty little secret,
Sleep soon,
Reflect and you may seem wise,

400 miles is a long time and soon I'll need to stop
