Never thought of you, I was running out of space, Never saw the new world order in your grace, in all the time I've wasted, I've never known one with such a light, Son of the sunrise, you could never hold the dark if you tried, Go flicker like the candle's epiphany, Strike forward, Go flicker like the moth to the candle, Plunging horses through the foaming waves. Never thought of you, In my plan you never came, Never thought of you, I was running through the rain, Hold the flag for freedom, May we never ask the way we should go, Set free the rebel, Set free the child I had tried to hide, Go flicker like the candle's epiphany, Strike forward, Go flicker like the moth to the candle, Plunging horses through the foaming waves. Leave their shadows, drop the veil, I know that you are coming for to stay a while, But let us freedom lover, Let us stay the cage all of our own way, Go flicker like the candles epiphany, Strike forward, Go flicker like the moth to the candle, Plunging horses through the foaming waves. Never thought of you, In my plan you never came.

Dirty Secret 04:02
These things get out dirty secrets, Yes they get out dirty tales, Dragged right out into the open, Lai ya da dai, ya da dai, ya da dai, Pulled under the wheels of oncoming trucks and passing cars, As people stare, Seperate by glass, there but for the grace of, Roll on past - roll on past. Turn up the radio, cover it up, cover it up, But we are complicit and already too deep in, Stretch'ed out in front, Fall away behind people like their journeys to somewhere else. Once we learned a few things, Probably forgotten now, But these things get dragged in on out, Yes these things get dragged in on out, Time is distant in our dirty little secret, Sleep soon, Reflect and you may seem wise, 400 miles is a long time and soon I'll need to stop

You were never able to cope with conflict, War and division, is not your style, My promise is lost, My promise is lost, Can you find the vision? A lonely term time, War and division Their primal style. Swore I'd remember, My promise is lost, My promise is lost, Blinkered like a ruined horse you stumble, Where the dark holds morning to ransom, Give me songs for to speak with, When the dark forces me to silence, They can never hold your thoughts to ransom, And in a song I am free. Swore I'd be strong, But my voice is lost, Laughing like hyaenas, What should I say? Stalk the lonely hallway With your arrows in my heart, I will not cry, I'll walk with pride. Ask me today, Ask me how the earthquake manifests, I don't know, I can't feel it, But I know its something there, I can no more feel it but i know it's there. Now you're in the vision, With not one ally, Fear and indecision, The lunchtime trial, Fire twenty arrows, I'll give you nothing! I will walk along the moor all alone, The rain will cry for me, And bury memories in the peat.

Quietly falling on the river side, I am crawling to the other side, Where straddling the water, I quest to find the light, My heart cries out for more. Heeding every sign I climb ever down, Roots twist through the loam, I follow them down, But I'll never tell you I lied. Quietly crawling underneath the leaves, Beech mast claws me grasping in the breeze, In black and white - dark and light, Through the gloaming mould, My heart cries out for more, Heeding every sign I climb ever down, Roots twist through the loam, I follow them down, And bury myself in the clay the light blinds my eyes, And I know that the water will bind my sighs, But I'll never tell you I lied. I lied, Stones cast fell rhythms of the water, Lying, Feelings can fester under faces, I'm trying, Never mind me, never mind I've nothing to say, You've been hiding the faces of the glaciers Carve mountains in pride And cry, For I'll never tell you I lied.

Climb the highest of hills for to run from the world, In the voice of the rain, in these torrents for to drown, And lain among the heather, comes a voice from the rocks, "Don't walk alone child, I'm with you". Don't pine for these years lost in seeking a friend, Raise your voice to the sun, raise your voice up to me, We will sing the chorus - your minor refrain, In these sad days I'll walk with thee" Old lady of winter, your faces in the trees, Old lady of winter, come mother me my tears, Old lady of the winter, in your sight I'll grow, Tell me will I be crippled by the dead? O'er the heather she rides; yellow eyed owl of day, Freedom finds you alone - yet you're never lonely, Friends and lovers may come, friends and lovers may go, She'll be at your side in this fight. Through every alley and path tread quiet alone, Called to ev'ry dark place for to hide from their eyes, Like the deer in the wood who looks 'fore she leaps, From the brambles she calls "take courage to leave". I want to go, I want to go, Old lady of winter, your faces in the trees, Old lady of winter, come mother me my tears, Old lady of the winter, in your sight I'll grow, Tell me will I be crippled by the dead? Tell me will I be crippled by the dead? I won't be crippled by the dead.

Draw out the haunting shadow of the ghost, Etched on the sunset sound. Silhouetted on the canvas in black, The bare bones of summer cast shadows, Restlessly spinning I'll draw out the lines, With the maple leaf spiralling down, Autumn grows dark and the sap goes to ground - Is this just the time of year? Autumn will darken these parallel lines of the trees hiding me. Should I go east? Or should I go west? I wish I could decide. Can you survive if you can't decide, When you're stuck here just drawing lines, Restlessly spinning I'll draw out the lines, With the maple leaf spiralling down, Autumn grows dark and the sap goes to ground - Is this just the time of year? Autumn will darken these parallel lines of the trees hiding me. Drag and drawing lines, all in lines, Dragging and drawing me, Drag and drawing lines, all in lines, Dragging and drawing me. Restlessly spinning I'll draw out the lines, Pushing it under and keeping it down, down under the earth, Who bears her labour in shuddering moans, Breathing out liquid fire, Brimstone, brimstone; Ashes to scars, No one will ever know, No one will ever know, No one will ever know......

Words 04:32
I know all too well those words were aimed at me, And I've employed a shell, A well used, well designed and well maintained veneer, Against which these words flutter like blood stained butterflies. Persistent yet but harmless, knowing if I let them in they will wreak ruin and I'll be straight back to a place a decade gone. Use your words. Cut my favours, seamless razers, on board parting ships I'll waver, Catch this final whisper of integrity. Reap the plunder on this final breath of honesty, I will say nothing more. These are my final words as snowflakes cover me, A blanket of derision in a world where you must hide out from words, Persistent yet but harmless, knowing if I let them in they will wreak ruin and I'll be straight back to a place a decade gone. Gone, A decade gone, Where have I gone? When will I belong? Gone, A decade gone? Where have I gone? When will I belong? Gone, A decade gone, Forever wrong, I still don't belong Gone, A decade gone? Where have I gone? When will I belong? Words from friends can kill or cure.

about

Finally after a rather long break, I am back and I have some new material for you!
OK, not so new, but unreleased; an EP with which to wet everyone's appetite's for my first professionally produced album, which I plan to record this year once I get into the studio!

Drawing Lines is a collection of demo's that together form a snapshot of a rather strange time between 2011 and 2013.

Despite their clunks and fluffs, these demos capture the mood of the time in a way I don't think I could recreate a decade on from that time.
